17 athletes traveled to Meadow Lake today to compete in track and field events today. Everyone tried their best and represented their school well with their sportsmanship, enthusiasm and encouragement of others. At least 14 have qualified to advance to Districts, also in Meadow Lake, next week. Special thank yous go out to Tyler, Chris, Mrs. Fedyk and Mr. Diamond for helping us run the discus event as well as to all the parents who came out to support us and cheer us on. Tyler came along solely as a helper. We couldn't have done it without him. Great work, everyone!

Awards Night
Thursday night's Awards Ceremony was very well attended and supported by the community as we celebrated student accomplishments from throughout the year. Ranging from academics to sports to spirit and participation, all told there were 235 certificates, 44 medals, 3 plaques, 13 trophies, 20 backpacks (coming soon), and 64 Frisbees! Students at PCS, you have a lot to be proud of as your teachers and families are already very proud of you. Great work!

Ditch Cleaning
For the first part of this week, students from Grade 6 to 9, along with several community volunteers, worked hard cleaning highway ditches around Pierceland. We managed to finish a day ahead of schedule thanks to their efforts. A special thank you to Mrs. Sonntag for organizing everything at this especially busy time of year. We appreciate all the help we received for this fundraiser. Monies from this event will be used to subsidize the Grade 6 to 9 year-end trip to Moose Jaw.
